Our Services:
Emmett Technique:
Emmett Technique is my primary modality making up about 90% of my treatment method. It is a gentle and effective treatment that often shows change in real time and supports the body’s continuing response and adaptation over a 3-5 days.
Equine Sports Massage- a la Jack Meagher method:
In 2003 I began studying on my own and experimenting with the method of addressing the 23 most common injuries in horses, and saw great benefit in the horses I was training. This was actually the inspiration that lead me to my full time pursuit of helping horses be balanced and enjoying movement.
Cranial Sacral Therapy – Equine:
I find this is a very effect technique combined with Emmett Technique for addressing jaw tension, bit shyness, shying and connection with the bit. It is also a useful technique for assessing stress levels of the horse.

Case Study
This horse was introduced to me via a conversation on Facebook.
The owner of this horse had spent many thousands of dollars in vet fees and diagnosis over two years, often defaulting to gut ulcers as the likely culprit. I suggested that whilst ulcers could be part of the picture it did not explain the issues the horse had over all, and that the ulcers were a secondary outcome.
I suggested that there was a primary issue that was creating the opportunity for ulcer development was coming from discomfort that was starting in the lower legs, specifically the tissue at the back of the pastern. I asked for a photo of the back of each foot. It showed contracted heals and the impact of this can be seen in how the horse presents on the top photo with her feet being far from standing square.
I was not able to attend the horse directly as it was in the USA and I am in Australia, so I asked her if I could provide an instructional video that she could apply some direct manipulation to the back of the pasterns. This was the only care, other than the regular bare foot care of a trimmer/farrier. the time difference between the photos is less than a month.
It can be clearly seen that the posture and stance have improved significantly being more square, the stomach, core and back ( and in turn the thoracic sling) has lifted and in turn has allowed the digestive organs more adequate space to have room to digest. It is a wonderful outcome.
“My main riding horse had developed a huge sway back after an extended paddock holiday. I spoke to several professionals and the prognosis was for a long recovery and not great outcome…until i was recommended Grantley.
From the first treatment there was a huge improvement in my horses back and after just a few months I am over the moon with how his back has lifted. He is performing better than ever and I have no doubt will continue his improvement in leaps and bounds.
From a human perspective…my 17 year old son had one leg shorter than the other and therefore very lopsided shoulders and slightly twisted pelvis. He has been to specialist Physiotherapists etc. After just a few treatments with Grantley, his whole posture and body conformation has changed and along with it his confidence, concentration and maturity has grown.
As a professional Acupuncturist and therapist I understand the Emmett’s treatment but am amazed at the results Grantley achieves.” WOW!
“Grantley, thank you for helping my horses to be pain free and happy to be ridden.
I can’t do my classical dressage training without you.”
